COUNSELING for ANXIETY & PERFECTIONISM

Online & In-Person Therapy in Kansas & Missouri

IS THE PRESSURE TO BE “GOOD ENOUGH” crushing YOU?

It doesn’t matter how much you achieve personally or professionally—your bar for “success” always seems to get higher. You’ve never been good at saying “no,” and now you find yourself feeling constantly burnt out and completely exhausted. Conversations replay in your head at night on a loop as you dissect where you went wrong, imagining what others must think. Telling someone you disagree with them feels way too uncomfortable, so you often end up “keeping the peace” despite feeling anything but peaceful on the inside.

Near-constant feelings of worry and self-doubt make you want to hide away unless you’re needed somewhere. This has landed you stuck in a cycle of going to work, coming home, rinsing, and repeating.

LOGICALLY, YOU KNOW YOU CAN’T CONTROL EVERYTHING, BUT…

You’ve spent an awful lot of time and energy trying to.

So much, in fact, that you feel like you don’t have a lot left to give, and it’s starting to show. You guilt yourself for feeling this way, and compare yourself to the people around you who seem to have it all together.

In moments of spiraling, you feel physically sick and the intensity of your emotions can be overwhelming. All you want is to feel at ease in your life, but that feeling still evades you despite your efforts to optimize every little thing.

I KNOW YOU’RE STILL IN THERE SOMEWHERE.

Imagine a life where you know exactly who you are and what you need to thrive.

One where you are still the thoughtful, generous person you’ve always been, but are able to draw the line and prioritize your wellbeing when you’re at the end of your rope. In this life, you accept yourself flaws and all, and give yourself the grace and compassion you’ve always deserved. You’re crystal clear on what you value and don’t let fear and anxiety make your decisions for you. You find balance one day at a time.

If you’re reading this…

That life is waiting for you.

I’ll give you the building blocks to lay a strong foundation of self-acceptance and trust, because overcoming your anxiety and perfectionism simply isn’t possible without that. We’ll talk about what sets you off at work, in your relationships, and in your home life. Then, I’ll provide you with tools and coping skills that I know work 100% of the time. You’ll learn how to handle your anxiety instead of avoiding it, and stop putting things on hold waiting for it to go away.

Frequently asked questions

  • Anxiety is a common mental health condition that shows up as persistent feelings of worry, fear, and unease. It often stems from feeling out of control or overwhelmed by circumstances. When you experience situations or thoughts that make you feel powerless, uncertain, or unable to cope, you might even notice physical symptoms like a rapid heartbeat or shortness of breath.

  • Perfectionism can be harmful because it often leads to stress, anxiety, and a fear of failure. It can stem from many sources, like societal pressures, personal expectations, or past experiences. It’s often fueled by an underlying desire for control over outcomes and feelings of dread surrounding judgment or rejection.

  • In my practice, I mainly use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Feminist Theory, Mindfulness, and Self Compassion to address these issues. These, along with other therapy frameworks, help me meet you where you are and define a path forward for you as an individual. You can learn more about my approach on my about page.
