COUNSELING for WOMEN’S ISSUES & PEOPLE-PLEASING

Online & In-Person Therapy in Kansas & Missouri

THE EXHAUSTION OF TRYING TO BE superwoman IS TAKING A TOLL.

The roles you fill in your life—partner, mother, professional, friend, daughter—have become your whole identity. You’re burnt out from trying to keep up with everything at work and at home, but feel selfish if you voice your feelings or ask for help.

Your relationships feel strained and you don’t know what you could be doing differently to alleviate that tension. Maybe you’re new to motherhood and are feeling completely overwhelmed, unsure why it doesn’t come as naturally as everyone said it would. The anxiety that constantly sits on your chest is making it hard to breathe.

YOU’VE BEEN TOLD YOU CAN HAVE IT ALL, BUT…

The fatigue you constantly feel is telling you otherwise.

You don’t want to be a nag to your partner and family, but you’re not sure how else to communicate that you’re drowning. Dread seeps into your stomach at the thought of your never-ending to-do list. It seems like no one in any part of your life appreciates or even notices the hoops you jump through for them. You put on a brave face for your loved ones, but internally you know something has got to give.

HAVING LESS ON YOUR PLATE isn’t A PIPE DREAM.

Imagine a life where you know yourself fully and aren’t afraid to take up space.

One where you’re able to show up 100% for your family, friends, and at work because you make time to take care of yourself first. In this life, your relationships feel balanced and the eggshells you’re so used to walking on are a thing of the past.

If you’re reading this…

That life is waiting for you.

First and foremost, working with me will give you the space to voice everything you’re feeling without judgment. Once we’ve gotten to know each other, we’ll dive into how your experience as a woman in a man’s world has affected every part of your life. We’ll put aside the things you’ve been taught “should” make you happy, and discover the things that actually do. You’ll learn how to communicate your needs without guilt and practice coping skills that help you feel less overwhelmed.

BECAUSE IT is POSSIBLE TO…

  • Quiet the critical voice in your head

  • Care for yourself the way you care for everyone else

  • Find yourself again outside of your responsibilities to others

  • Feel less alone and more supported by loved ones

  • Experience more ease and balance in your everyday life

YOU DESERVE A life YOU love.

Frequently asked questions

  • Sometimes the work I do with clients is directly related to being a woman—things like pregnancy or postpartum—but not always. I work with both women who are cisgender and women who are not, and help them define their femininity on their terms.

The goal of therapy for women is to simply offer a space where you don’t have to explain yourself—the roles you play, the mental load of it all, and the societal expectations you’re carrying. We can discuss anything here, from sex and relationships, to career, to processing and moving beyond painful past experiences. I’m here for it all.

  • No, I work with all people of all gender identities. However, I take a feminist approach regardless, meaning I acknowledge how systemic, institutional, and cultural norms can negatively affect all of us in my practice. The men I work with are often dealing with the negative effects of toxic masculinity and usually feel a lot of shame around their emotions.

  • Feminism is a movement that seeks equality between genders. It acknowledges the historical and ongoing mistreatment of women, and aims to challenge those inequalities. Feminism recognizes that everyone benefits from a society where gender equality is embraced and celebrated.

  • In my practice, I mainly use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Feminist Theory, Mindfulness, and Self Compassion to address these issues. These, along with other therapy frameworks, help me meet you where you are and define a path forward for you as an individual. You can learn more about my approach on my about page.
